PHOTOSET: Jesse Boykins III at Glasslands

We got to finally see Jesse live at Glasslands last week. That guy is fantastic live. The foundation of his show starts with him as a personality. He is undoubtedly cool, but when he steps to the mic, his attitude isn’t about his coolness. Instead, you can tell he wants to have fun, and make sure that the people that came have a really great night. Jesse danced, and made explosive impressions, he got quiet and intimate with the crowd, in a way that felt as genuine and he is off the stage. When you add the fact that his performances were on point, it made for a really great show.

PHOTOSET: Burning Man 2013 (2 of 2)

Last year, we went to Burning Man to document the Brooklyn creative group Purring Tiger to present their piece, MIZUARU. With the help of ITP students from NYU, they had created a interactive art installation and were invited to be a part of Burning Man. They, in turn, invited us to film their experience. Check out the first photo set. We will release the film this week which includes a preview for their next installation for this year’s Burning Man festival.

We were invited to this year’s AFROPUNK Fest in Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn. We had a blast. It was our first time attending the festival as a group and the defining characteristic of the crowd was eclectic and vibrant. We were also excited to see our friends Denitia and Sene perform. Check out the photos from our time there and stay tuned for the backstage photos later this week.

The BKLYN AIR Performance Series captures raw and intimate moments with up-and-coming artists. Each episode is unique to the performer and is filmed in both iconic and hidden locations
around Brooklyn.

This was our first session of BKLYN AIR Performance Series. We got a emotional performance by Ro James singing “Indiana Jones” on a empty railroad in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
